This new build was architecturally designed to be sympathetic and welcoming to the dramatic coastline it was built on. The owners brief was for a modern ‘doc hut’, a weekend retreat that embraced the simplicity of materials and living of a doc hut, but that was warm and welcoming. The resulting interiors were designed to not compete with the colours and drama of the environment outside but to provide a warm cave from which to view it. A combination of timber finishes were used throughout to create this aesthetic.
