Mission Bay Residence
Mission Bay Residence

This classic Mission Bay home had a degree of splendour but within, the rooms were small and disconnected to the outdoor area. The existing swimming pool was difficult to access and looked tired after many decades of use by others. Previous interior renovations had also seen a number of different ceiling heights introduced as rooms were added to. Our clients had a strong sense that there was the need for uniformity across the interiors as well as a direct link to a new covered patio and the pool below. Scarlet Architects created these seamless junctions while we developed an interior and exterior scheme to create timeless and sophisticated spaces. The outcome is a palette of warm timber, soft greys, marbles, deep blues and sophisticated linear lighting that threads the 3 storey home together.

The kitchen and scullery were integral to the new open plan living space. The client brief was for a glamorous but functional kitchen which could handle homeowners that loved to cook, bake and entertain. The creation of two work spaces on the back wall of the kitchen ensured that coffee and drinks could be prepared without infringing on the cooking tasks.

Herringbone flooring in the hallway added a touch of timeless elegance, while the colour palette echoed the calm of the ocean, inviting tranquility into each room. As you move through the hallway, decorative accents provide visual interest. The dramatic powder room, with its dark wallpaper and bespoke fittings, stand out as a statement of refined taste. In the main living spaces, new large sliding doors flood the area with natural light, enhancing the soft hues of the furniture. From the balcony stairs lead down to the upgraded pool area where sandblasted & brushed limestone pavers were used providing a soft organic feel underfoot.
